Host A Make Shift Coffee House In Your Community

Bring People Together With Different Views

Image

We are made up of many small friendly communities.

Towns and neighborhoods where folks greet each other at the bank or the post office to offer a friendly "hello, how are you?"

But, these same communities have trouble locating a space to have face-to-face conversations about trickier subjects - like our current political climate.

Do you want to provide that space for your community? Consider bringing the Make Shift Coffee House to your local Grange Hall, Church Basement or Library - and get these crucial conversations started. Below is a list of items you will need for your event.

Host Committee

We have found that a host committee made up of diverse members of the political spectrum have greater outcomes at their Make Shift Coffee House meet up. This is not a requirement, but strongly encouraged.

Public Space

A place that is free and open to many different types of people. A place where all will feel welcome.

Live Music & Good Coffee

Any kind of live music will do! This will be before and after the talk. We'll need good coffee and food too because eating together is often a pathway to finding common ground.

Volunteers

You'll need help getting the word out about your event. It will also help on the day of your event to have many hands setting up and welcoming attendees.
