February 8 2018, Freedom, Government Handouts

February 8, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm

When should the government hand out money?

Dirigo Grange Hall, Route 137, Freedom, Maine

Thursday evening, February 8, 2018 6pm-8:30

How do you feel about government entitlement programs for people in need? When should the government help poor people? Single parents? People needing healthcare? What is it the government’s role vs. volunteerism/being a good neighbor and involved in your community?

How do you feel about government tax breaks for corporations? For job creation? Real estate development? New product development?

Where does personal or corporate responsibility end and government responsibility take over?

How do you feel about government foreign aid? For famine relief? For military build up? For disease prevention?

When is it okay for our government to hand out money? And when is it not okay?

Should the government use entitlement programs or tax breaks to decrease income inequality? Or increase income inequality?

Why do you have these points of view?

How did you form these opinions?

Come to this Make Shift Coffee House and tell us how you feel about the role of government. And come hear how your neighbors feel.

Musical guest will be Electric Bonfire. You can learn more about them here.
